ABOUT BOUJAD RUGS Boujad rugs originate from the Haouz region of Morocco and are beloved for their expressive geometry, warm color palettes, and spontaneous, often asymmetrical motifs. Traditionally woven by Amazigh women, each piece reflects personal storytelling — abstract, symbolic, intuitive — and carries generations of weaving heritage. ETHICAL SOURCING This rug was carefully selected through our long-time Middle Atlas partner — a respected Boujad specialist who works closely with rural weaving communities. He sources re-used vintage wool, pays artisans upfront, ensures fair and transparent trade, and applies expert finishing techniques including washing, combing, repairs where needed, and sun-drying. His eye for unusual, high-quality pieces ensures we receive the most soulful Boujad creations. After receiving your initial message, we explained the artisanal, hand-knotted nature of this rug and how slight irregularities are inherent to traditional loom-made pieces. Unfortunately, we did not receive any further reply. Had we known that the disappointment was this strong, we would of course have gladly advised you to contact Faire customer support to arrange a return, should you have preferred not to keep the rug. Our collections consist exclusively of handmade, one-of-a-kind pieces, where each knot reflects human craftsmanship rather than machine perfection. This is exactly what many collectors and retailers value — though we fully understand that this aesthetic may not suit every store or customer.
