This sweater is made with 25% Baby Yak yarn, from the calf of a massive bovine that survives the harsh climates of high mountains. Yaks are protected, monitored, and considered sacred by indigenous populations. Our Yak fiber comes from Mongolia, where the animals are combed once a year. Each adult yak produces less than a kilo of undercoat, which is why herders also collect the fur that these animals naturally shed. Yak fiber is processed when available, making this sweater a niche product with exceptional characteristics intended for a few connoisseurs, for whom we commit to producing a limited number of pieces. The yarn consists of a hollow polyamide core on which the base is spun and twisted not from Yak but from Baby Yak (a longer and softer fiber) and high-quality wool. Thus, technology meets quality because, on one hand, the thread is entirely covered by Yak and Wool, and thanks to this sophisticated production technique, the entire thread casing is natural, the weight is extremely reduced, and the feel is particularly soft despite a very high resistance to pilling.
