Description
Note Card - NC12 Gerald Dawavendewa (Hopi & Cherokee) In ancient times there was no fire, and the world was cold until the lightning brothers struck a hollow sycamore tree, starting a fire. The animals could see smoke rising but could not get to it because the tree grew on an island. The animals called a council to see if anyone could retrieve a piece of the fire (Full story on how spider helped is included on card.) Printed on heavy-gloss card stock measuring 5 by 7 inches (12.7 by 17.78 cm) when folded, our smudge-, fade-, and water-resistant ink ensures its lasting quality. Includes an explanation of the artwork, details about the indigenous culture that inspired it, biography of the artist, plus a resealable sleeve, envelope, and sticker.

Beautiful artwork and carefully packaged. As much as we enjoy talking to our customers about Cherokee history, time doesn’t always allow this so the descriptions and write-ups on the back of the artwork is a big plus for folks to learn about the history and meanings behind the art.
