Made from 100% seaweed which is harvested by hand, dried in the sun, retted and the inner fibers are then removed and spun by hand. No chemicals are used in the process and the seaweed itself grows naturally - and plentifully! Handspun yarn - approximately fingering/ 4ply 295m approx per 100g 20 wpi Seaweed is not a strong yarn but is soft enough to wear. Knits to 4ply / fingering weight patterns. Aftercare: can be washed at 40 degrees, don’t tumble dry. Please contact us to let us know what colour you would like - those pictured are examples of what we can make for you. Seaweed does not dye brightly due to it natural base colour. It is handspun in an environment where saris are also made and does pick up some extra threads from this process. They can be seen in the photos. We feel it gives a nice 'tweedy' effect. You will receive 50x 100g skeins all dyed in the same batch OR up to 5 colours of 10x100g skeins each. its your choice!
