Description
6"x6" Ceramic Tile design inspired by the art of Frank Lloyd Wright. Each tile is cork-backed to prevent scratching, and a convenient hanging hole makes it easy to display on any wall. Hand-glazed by our skilled Tucson artists in small batches, this piece is crafted to be naturally fade-proof and durable, so it will stand the test of time. The work of Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959) is recognized worldwide as pivotal to the development of modern architecture. Through a deep understanding of our relationship with the natural world, Wright’s ideas and designs were inspired by organic forms. His vision, “to make life more beautiful, the world a better one for living in, and to give rhyme, reason, and meaning to life” is carried on through the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation and represented on the World Heritage List. A portion of purchase price supports the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation’s work to inspire people to discover and embrace an architecture for better living through meaningful connections to nature, the arts, and each other. Your purchase also supports the preservation of Frank Lloyd Wright’s buildings for future generations to enjoy. About Frank Lloyd Wright's Avery Coonley House Rug: Considering that this sprawling Prairie Style home was conceived in the midst of the high Victorian era, it remains to this day one of the prime examples of Wright’s innovative approach to home design. This stuccoed suburban home, originally situated on an acre of land, encompassed the extensive wooded landscape of which it was a part. The estate, designed on a grand scale, included sunken gardens, a gardener’s cottage and a coach house in addition to the expansive main house. Believing the architect should create total environments, Frank Lloyd Wright designed decorative elements for many aspects of his homes to create a cohesive whole. This design is adapted from a watercolor of a tapestry rug planned for the Avery Coonley House. Designed between 1906 and 1908, the rug was never executed. Carly Quinn Designs is a proud licensee of the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation. FrankLloydWright.org <
