About this product
This beautifully hand woven cloth, Aso-Oke (pronounced ah-SHOR-Okay) is made by the Yoruba of south west Nigeria. Woven in strips, it is of very similar to Kente cloth from Ghana. These strips are sewn together to make clothing. It is a thick fabric which is similar in texture to denim or canvas. It makes a great fabric choice for home furnishings, cushions, upholstery, bags and much more. You can cut and sew together the strips for your own specific needs. Use pinking shears and cut across the width of the material. Avoid cutting along the length of the material as the weave will unravel.
