Set of 2 Celadon porcelain tea cups, in pastel green or cyan blue with carp decoration inside that make sipping tea pleasant and fun. Celadon porcelain is particularly appreciated in China, Korea, Thailand, and Japan. To create this accessory, artisans proceed with a slip wash (liquefied clay), which contains a high percentage of iron, on the body of the accessory before glazing. The iron interacts with the glaze during firing and colors it in one of the various shades of green or blue. Originally made in China, Celadon was exported to India, Persia, and Egypt during the Tang dynasty (618-907), to most of Asia during the Song (960-1279) and Ming (1368-1644) dynasties, and to Europe in the 14th century. The products were popular for their beauty; even the Chinese appreciated them because they resemble jade.
