To use the Alpha, slide the ignition safety lock to unlock, set the flame adjuster level to the desired position, aim the rotatable head at the right angle, and push down the trigger button. The flame is sharp and thin, and fires up a precise flame that is suitable for a range of different uses. The refill valve is found under the base.
