Description
Our very special Sweet Paprika is grown on a small regenerative farm in the oldest paprika-growing region of Hungary. Perfect for classic Hungarian dishes, this sweet paprika adds richness, sweetness and depth to anything it touches. Our partner farmer, Péter, grows two heirloom varieties of peppers: Szegedi 80, known for its deep red color and sweetness, and mihályteleki, known for its rich fragrance. The peppers are picked when perfectly ripe, then hung in mesh bags to cure in the breeze. This curing process, called sukju (or "salami bag" by the locals), brings the sugars to the surface. After curing, the peppers are dehydrated and ground in small batches. Cooking Tips: Add to soups and stews for a gorgeous color and fresh, sweet flavor Use in rubs, marinades and dressings Make classic Hungarian dishes like goulash, chicken paprikash and stuffed cabbage

Great products, great company, ever helpful team. Packaging sometimes comes in rough because its under packed, but I've never had anything damaged. Happy to support Burlap & Barrel and their mission, glad to carry their products!

As always, the spices are exquisite and an absolute must for anyone who likes to cook. I tried the Silk Chili and was not disappointed. The panela kettle cooked sugar is magic as well with amazing depth of flavor. The degree of quality is so far beyond the typical it can only be described as a brightness you could not previously imagine possible from a dry spice/herb. Only downside is my standards have shot through the roof because of these guys
