Description

Coffin nails end things. That is their only function — final, deliberate, irreversible. Across the folk magic traditions that have used them — Hoodoo, British folk practice, Caribbean rootwork — the coffin nail is not a symbol of death. It is a tool of closure. It does not mourn what it seals. It does not hesitate. The nail goes in and the cycle closes. Toxic patterns. Relationships that have taken more than they gave. Versions of the self that were built for survival and are no longer needed. The nail marks the end of each of these with the same quiet authority. Final. Done. Moonstone complicates this in the best possible way. It is a stone of the in-between — of the space that exists between the decision and the aftermath, between the ending and whatever comes next. Its adularescence, the internal glow that moves beneath the surface as light shifts across it, is not decorative. It is the stone doing what it does — holding light inside itself, releasing it slowly, on its own terms. In nearly every lunar tradition, moonstone is the stone of emotional intelligence. Not feeling as weakness. Feeling as information. As the thing that tells you what the mind has not yet caught up to. The coffin nail knows when to cut. The moonstone knows when to feel. Together they form the complete instrument — for those who are done being undone by the same thing twice. A 3mm cabochon moonstone set at the head of the nail — smooth and domed, its surface pooling light inward, the internal glow shifting with every movement. Hand-set, one at a time. Hand-carved in recycled sterling silver using the lost-wax method, then finished with 23.5K gold through Keum-boo — an ancient Korean gilding technique that bonds gold directly to sterling silver through heat and pressure, without adhesives or plating.
