Wholesale Double vase with dogs, hand-painted ceramic – Whimsical duo of yellow cups – Italy 1950–1970

They are inseparable. Side by side, big blue eyes wide open, each flanked by its bright yellow little cup with blue and green flowers. This double hand-painted ceramic vase is one of those pieces that make you smile as soon as you put it somewhere. Two seated dogs, modeled and painted by hand with a freedom of gesture typical of post-war Italian folk craft. The dog on the left wears a blue bow on its head, a sky-blue body with multicolored round motifs, and textured raised paws imitating fur. The dog on the right has an orange bow, a pink body with purple flowers, the same naive and endearing expression. The cylindrical bright yellow little cups, decorated with painted flowers, are integrated into the composition and can hold toothpicks, matches, small dried flowers, or pencils. Height 13 cm. Italian production, attribution to be confirmed, 1950s–1970s. Sold as is with the following defects, visible in the photos: chip on the bow of the right dog, flake on one ear, small chip on the front paws of the left dog, slight enamel wear on the rims of the cups. Price set accordingly. Placed on a windowsill or a kitchen shelf, it brings a touch of colorful whimsy and cheerfulness. An object for those who love imperfect, lively things.
