Description
Made from from vegetable fibers by the Tutsi women. The grasses of these trees were soaked in the water for roughly two weeks until the fibers become pliable. What really sets these baskets apart from the rest is their very intricate weaving patterns, their use of very fine woven material and the extraordinarily tight weave. The range of patterns is quite diverse which shows the innovation of the highly skilled women of Rwanda who make them. This basket measures 15 3/4 x 6 1/4" (40 x 16 cm)
