Product description
Ostseesalz presents smoked Baltic Sea salt, produced by boiling Baltic seawater to evaporate and collect pure sea salt. The water is heated in large stainless-steel tanks until the salt is skimmed off by hand; from 400 liters of water about six kilograms of salt are produced after several hours of evaporation. The producer is working on using waste heat from a biogas plant for production.
