Description
In Psalm 34:4, the word “sought” comes from the Hebrew root word that means “ask,” "frequent," or “worship.” David was persistent. Not only did he have great reverence for the Lord, but he demonstrated his awe for Him through consistent worship and prayers. He sought Him. And the Lord was faithful to deliver Him. But God doesn't always deliver us from our earthly circumstances. Sometimes He does. But oftentimes He is so incredibly faithful to increase our trust in Him and instead deliver us from our fears. And when we get a glimpse of this freedom…when we begin to believe He is bigger than them and bigger than death itself, we get a taste of eternity. But Jesus speaks of His kingdom on earth. Because of Jesus, His kingdom has already come and He is inviting us into it today. What would it look like to seek Him, trust Him, and begin to walk in the freedom His kingdom brings today? Perhaps this is what it looks like to live in the kingdom now: to find ourselves surrounded by His protection and peace, no matter what comes our way.
