Wholesale Extraordinary Bamana Chiawara Fertility Headdress Pair Statues

This is an unusual modification of the typical chiawara dance headdress, used in fertility dances by the Bamana people of Mali. This couple, ostensibly male and female, do not seem to exhibit typical opposing gender characteristics; they appear both to be similar in gender. However, since we found them as a pair and understand they are to be considered to be a pair we prefer not to separate them. It's not likely that these are truly vintage objects but they are exceptional in their beauty and style.  17 1/2 x 7 1/2 x 3 1/2″ (44 x 19 x 9 cm)
