Description
Karabana. The rosette of Tang origin. Stylised flowers absorbed into Japanese weaving and refined in the most demanding obi production — held here in silver against crimson. The interlocking floral rosette motif belongs to the karabana tradition — circular medallions of stylised petals in symmetrical formation, woven with the obi-loom precision of classical Japan. The palette places enji crimson against silver kinginsha metallic thread with restrained gold accents. The crimson gives the composition its formal weight. The silver gives it its discipline. A runner that turns the daily table into something a little finer — quiet beauty for ordinary moments, gathered around a shared meal. The runner is lined in undyed silk to protect the face. No metal touches the visible silk. Renaras: Japanese ceremonial silk, reimagined for daily life. Each piece arrives with its own passport from the atelier — a small handmade record of the silk's first life and its transformation, signed and dated in Amsterdam. Material: Japanese ceremonial silk, ceremonial obi with karabana rosette in silver kinginsha Dimensions: 150 × 30 cm (approx. 59 × 12 in) Construction: Undyed silk lining Care: Dry clean or spot clean. Origin: Japanese ceremonial silk, designed and finished at the Renaras atelier, Netherlands. Pair with placemats from the same collection. One silk. One story. One piece. Never repeated.
