About Renaras
Renaras transforms Japanese ceremonial silk into singular home objects — wall art, pillows, table runners, placemats. Designed and finished at our Amsterdam atelier. At our atelier on IJsbaanpad in Amsterdam, we work exclusively with Japanese ceremonial silk — obis and kimono textiles woven for ceremony, occasion, and household ritual. Each textile arrives with a history. We design and finish every piece in-house, transforming the silk into wall tapestries, lumbar pillows, table runners, table placemats, framed textile panels, knot bags, and ties. Our practice is grounded in mottainai — the bringing of new imagination into a living tradition. Every Renaras piece is unrepeatable. Once a silk has been transformed, it cannot be made again.
