Bissap is a very refreshing juice made from African hibiscus flowers “hibiscus sabdariffa”, with a slightly acidic taste and a sweet scent of red fruit. Very popular in West Africa (Senegal, Mali, Ivory Coast), and in Egypt (Karkadé). Rich in vitamin C, it is also given diuretic and tonic properties. Introduced to Europe at the end of the century, bissap is commonly used in the preparation of herbal teas. Origin of the ingredients: Senegal and Mali
