8x10 art print, printed on 100% post-consumer recycled card stock paper, packaged in bio-plastic sleeve Estuaries are semi enclosed bodies of water at the interface between land and ocean. Seawater is measurably diluted by the inflow of freshwater. They are often called the ‘nurseries of the sea’ because so many species rely on estuaries as protected places to rear their young. This collage is of two sea otters floating together in the estuary shallows. Under them we can see some of the other creatures that call the estuary home including a starfish and crab. This is the July image found in my 2025 wall calendar. Although it works as a stand-alone image, each design in this collection was created to tell part of a story of how the water on our planet connects us all. This piece incorporates hidden words like, “home,” “nurture,” and “safe.”
