American robins originally nested in forests and are much shyer than the robins of your backyards and parks. Robins enjoy hunting for earthworms, and are well known for their brightly colored blue-green eggs. Robins are commonly heralds as one of the first signs of the spring season and beloved by many. The robin for me is a personal symbol of transformation. It was the first bird I drew when I started creating bird illustrations in 2014.
