Description Remarkably soft, this attractive kitchen towel offers a distinct texture obtained from handspun yarn and showcases the splendor of hand-done weaves. Add a handmade touch to your kitchen with a handloom-woven kitchen towel. Highly absorbent, Sustainable Threads' kitchen towel is sturdy, durable and a practical way to reduce use of disposable paper towels. Packaged with a belly band and a hanger, it makes an excellent host or hostess gift. A Fair Trade product. Handmade by artisans in India. How It’s Made First, the yarn is handspun. A blend of handspun and conventional yarn is used. This textile is produced on hand-operated looms, one of the oldest methods of textile production. The weaving involves interlinking a set of vertical threads (warp) with a set of horizontal threads (weft,) meticulous planning and a complex estimation, depending on the design. Each of the steps - spinning of the yarn, dyeing with low impact Azo-free dyes and weaving the products on wooden pit looms - support local artisan livelihood.
