ESSENCE The Attachment is the fourth work in the “Haptic Pacts” collection by Maison Armand DELA. The engraving, in the tradition of Northern Renaissance printmaking (the school of Dürer and Holbein), depicts a knotted hemp rope descending vertically from the top out of frame — the origin is lost in the invisible. At the bottom of the rope, a human forearm enters from the right side, its wrist tied to the last knot with a golden binding. From this knot, the warm color irrigates the skin in filamentous veins, as if the lineage were entering the blood. Laconic internal motto: ANTE ME — Before me.
