Each top slat has a very nice and smooth round over, giving this soap dish a very soft and elegant look. These soap dishes are made of natural red alder wood. Poplar is a sustainably grown hardwood that grows here in the US. Poplar varies in color from light cream to minty green, and performs exceptionally well as a soap dish. Red alder is a sustainably grown hardwood tree that grows here in the US. We use all our edge trim scraps to make these soap dishes. No material goes to waste. The seemingly useless material used would have otherwise been tossed out.
