Description
These beautiful wooden masks have been handcarved with traditional techniques and handpainted. Although bulls are not native to Mesoamerica, they arrived with the Spaniards and eventually became important characters in several contemporary Mayan dance dramas such as Baile del Torito, Baile Patzcar, and Baile Costeño. The image of the Torito can also be associated with strength and courage, representing the ability to face challenges and the determination to overcome adversity. The quality and detail of these masks are equal to those used in performances, but we offer them as decorative objects for your home. The masks have a small hole on their crowns for hanging on a wall. Dimensions: 10" length, 15" wide from ear to ear points, 6 1/4" depth to horn points 100% pine wood from scraps Handcarved and handpainted Ears and horns are detachable and can be placed back without any tool. Proudly handmade in Guatemala Our articles are unique in design and craftsmanship, which gives them their charm; therefore, please note that occasionally there might be slight variations in colour, design or pattern, from the pictured items.
