How This Handmade Onyx Ring Is Made Each oval black onyx ring is made to order in my small Santa Fe studio. I hand-select every stone for its depth and polish, then encase it in copper using traditional electroforming techniques. Copper grows directly around the stone through an electrical process, forming the band organically. No mass production, no shortcuts. Every handmade ring from this studio is one of a kind.
