Mermaid Island door is one of our beachy doors. All our doors are handcrafted using only premium red cedar. Cedar is the only wood that can withstand the elements untreated. However, we use an exterior finish to protect the colour from fading over time. The frame Mermaid frame has been painted a distressed white. Each little door has been hand painted with acrylic paints. In this case, the colours are a variety of distressed blues with a white wash. The hardware we choose is either zinc based, copper or bronze. These metals tend to age nicely over time, adding character to the door. A keyhole has been cut into the back of the door to hang from a screw or nail.
