Wayfinder Series The ocean is a big, beautiful place filled with amazing sea life.  A wayfinder is one who is one with the ocean, one who travels the sea.  In the Wayfinder series features what I like to call “Portraits of the Ocean”.  The Wayfinders are a unique blend blend of coastal and contemporary art.  The Wayfinders took years to develop.  I would paint a lot of mermaids, but I was always interested in the facial expression of these mermaids.  I decided that I wanted to focus on the head and do a portrait.  Not a traditional portrait, but something different and unique.  After testing different colors and versions of the portraits, the art evolved into the Wayfinder series.
