definitely a coon tail. has a leather loop on the top end! they have a sanitizer smell to them , probably because it was a real animal. each was in its own clear cellophane plastic bag. i took mine out hoping to air them out a little. -i hung them on a medium hook in the store. they look rustic!. boys will love them, and they aren't very expensive! glad i bought them. thanks!
