Counter Fat is part of Sig & Fairy’s whole-animal approach to rendering and stewardship. The balm is made using rendered tallow that does not meet the texture standards required for cosmetic products, allowing more of the material to be used intentionally rather than discarded. The tallow is rendered in-house from grass-fed and free-range suet sourced from a multi-generation ranch in southeastern Oregon. The rendering process is slow and hands-on, allowing careful control over purity, consistency, and finish.
