This cloth is a modern representation of traditional Bamana "bogolan", popularly known as mudcloth, using a batik technique instead of the hand-painting technique used for genuine mudcloth. This modification allows for much more detailed designs over a much larger area. The basic cloth is the same: handspun, handwoven cotton.  This textile measures 60" x 41 1/2" (152 x 105 cm)
