This beautiful, extra-large storage basket weaves together timeless Nordic design and traditional Kenyan handcraft. Each round basket is hand woven by a Kenyan artisan woman using locally sourced, partially recycled materials that make it extremely durable and easy to clean. Named after the Swahili word for pocket, the Mifuko. Mifuko enables these artisans to invest in their farms, send their children to school, and make plans for the future. By purchasing a Kiondo Extra Large Basket, you become an essential part of this story. Baskets are beautiful and great quality but shipping is very slow. Make sure you order well in advance. It took about a month for them to arrive.
