When Joseph Opinel made his first knife in 1890, Carbon Steel* was a blacksmith’s first choice. We’ve kept the collection to celebrate Joseph’s legacy and our brand origins. Sizes 6, 7, 8 are great everyday carry knives meant for small tasks. Sizes 9, 10, 12 are best suited for heavier tasks. They are adored by farmers and homesteaders. *Carbon steel has high cutting efficiency. However, it will rust if not dried properly or left damp. This is outside Opinel Limited Lifetime Warranty.
