Karawan Pure Olive Aleppo soap is incomparable for its content of 100% pure olive oil. MANUFACTURING: Karawan Aleppo soaps are made by a master soapmaker following the traditional copper cauldron cooking method using whole oils. After 24 hours of cooking, the dough is poured into large sheets, cooled, then cut by hand. The blocks are stacked in towers for 9 months of drying and maturation in the open air, under the soapworks' vaults. Since the founding of Karawan authentic in 2004, we have been committed with our soapmaking partner in Aleppo. The recognized quality of Karawan soaps is the result of their craftsmanship based on the ability to select noble olive and laurel oils and their precise knowledge of the saponification steps. This lasting relationship has allowed us to maintain the quality of our soaps since the start of the conflict in Syria in 2011, by reorganizing an artisanal factory 70 km north of Aleppo, in Turkey. Today Karawan Aleppo soaps are once again produced in Aleppo, Syria. Gradually, over the past few years, at the initiative of family members who returned, the soapworks have been progressively restored and production resumed step by step. Today, the family, reunited in Aleppo, proudly bears the responsibility of preserving a deeply rooted cultural family heritage. Karawan authentic thus continues its original commitment to support artisans who maintain their ancestral craft, a symbol of Aleppo’s rich and diverse history. We are proud to contribute to this dynamic by economically supporting the reconstruction of an authentic network of artisanal activities. Therefore, depending on the year of manufacture, our soaps indicate Turkey or Syria as their origin.
