We could hardly believe it: an XXL dandelion, preserved through drying and elaborate conservation methods. Dried dandelions are colloquially also called dandelion clocks. Dandelion clocks usually have flying seeds on a round, ball-like fruit stem. Dandelions bloom from April to June, and after the blooming period in June, the dandelion clocks form. Once the dandelion has faded and the yellow leaves are no longer visible, the delicate flower seeds develop. Our children love to blow away dandelion clocks and marvel at the flying flowers as they are magically carried away in the air. As adults, and eternal children, we place the dandelion clock in a small vase and are reminded of the beautiful late summer time, a lovely warm evening, and the sun standing in the sky.
