Yuzenshi (or Yuzen) papers are made in small studios throughout Japan. It is a long-time tradition of making these papers. The base is a lovely white Japanese washi, and then the image is screen printed for each color to create the image. With some of the ink having mica in them to get them look like even richer, are adding small flakes of mica. These papers can be used in all sorts of paper crafting projects, the paper is easy to cut and goes on with a favorite glue. But they can also be used in home dec projects from lampshades to adding the paper to small decorative items (like boxes) or the fronts of furniture, to even papering a wall with them. These papers can also be folded for origami, used in collage, and other art projects. The paper is just so versatile and beautiful. Photo is a 4" x 4" section of the paper
