Support Canadians, support Canadian businesses, and show that we're not as passive as some folks might think we are. -----Specs & Physical Details----- Both variations (buttons or magnets) measure 3.175cm (1.25") in diameter (from edge to edge). The designs are protected by a thin, but resilient mylar layer which makes them water resistant. They can be readily cleaned with a damp cloth as needed. They are not waterproof (though personal experience has shown them to survive an accidental cycle through the washing machine...oops.) The buttons have a metal pinback enclosure. These strong magnets are not glued to the front, instead, they set in a metal bracket that is machine pressed/crimped onto the front. They are an Indigenous Women's Support Centre that provides a range of programs and services to First Nations, Inuit and Métis women and children (regardless of status) who are survivors of domestic and other forms of violence, and who may also be suffering the effects of the residential school system. All programs and services are provided in the context of cultural beliefs and values to ensure a holistic approach is used as part of the healing journey. Canada is a nation built through colonialism, genocide, and abuse and that cannot be forgotten. As such, I feel it suiting that a portion of the proceeds from these buttons go towards a cause that can help to undo some of the wrongs white folk like myself have perpetrated over the centuries.
