This means that they are biodegradable even at lower ambient temperatures, such as those found in the environment in Europe. This ensures that degradation outside of industrial composting is also possible. Compared to other bioplastics, our biodegradable poop bags are characterised by a high degradation rate at low ambient temperatures. Plant-based Our biodegradable poop bags consist of 30% renewable raw materials, which are currently obtained from maize. The remaining proportion is made up of petroleum-based materials, but with a chemical structure that can be broken down by enzymes and metabolised by microorganisms into water, CO₂ and biomass - similar to the plant-based components. This means that these bags are completely biodegradable, even at low ambient temperatures. In addition, our biodegradable dog waste bags contain no plasticisers, no polyethylene and no genetically modified substances. Safe use & excellent handling With a thickness of 18 micrometres, our biodegradable poop bags are pleasantly thick, opaque, tear-proof and moisture-resistant. This and the large size (23 x 33 cm) make it easy and safe to dispose of dog faeces. They are also characterised by a very pleasant feel and excellent tear-off perforation. The bags are particularly easy to open. The practical rolls fit in almost every jacket pocket and in many dispensers. Packaging from sustainable forestry The packaging (boxes) used for our biodegradable dog waste bags are all made from FSC-certified material. The core of the roll and the sticker that holds the small rolls together are made of cardboard and paper respectively. Why are biodegradable dog waste bags needed? We regularly carry out clean-up campaigns, during which we have already found and disposed of thousands of poop bags made of conventional plastic (PE). As these are not biodegradable, unlike dog faeces itself, they can pose a major plastic waste problem for centuries. Folded, unused bags are also found time and again. And unfortunately, many poop bags are also wilfully disposed of in nature. Dog waste bags, which biodegrade at a significant rate under local temperature conditions, fulfil an important function.
