Tahini simply is a ground sesame-seed butter or paste that’s traditionally used in Eastern Mediterranean & Middle Eastern cuisine. Plain-tahini is the base for famous dishes / dips such as Hummus and for Baba-Ganoush dips. Growing up in Greece, tahini is spread on toast accompanied with either honey or chocolate sauce. This jar will introduce you to what our childhood tasted like. Instead of peanut butter & jelly, we had tahini & honey or cocoa. It's even in a Greek nursery rhyme "O Barba Brilios". Experience both spreads from Ariston: both Tahini with Cocoa and Tahini with Honey from Greece. Great over toast and as a dip for crackers & fruit. This can be described - similar to a smooth peanut spread with chocolate, only this has sesame seed butter with cocoa. It has a pleasant, sweet aroma of roasted sesame seeds and cocoa.
