This "garden" coffee is grown on family-owned farms around the Idido coffee mill near the town of Yirgacheffe in the Gedeo region of Ethiopia. This region is named for the indigenous Gedeo people inhabiting one of Ethiopia's most famous coffee-growing regions. Coffee beans are like sponges, absorbing all the sweet, juicy flavors of the surrounding coffee cherry. As the fruit dries and falls off the inner bean, the result is coffee that exhibits sweet and fruity profiles. Dry processed Yirgacheffe's are coveted by connoisseurs around the world and the Idido mill is known for producing particularly fine examples.
