Will Rannells (1892-1982) impacted the art realm as both an illustrator and an educator - he was Professor of Commercial Art at Ohio State University for 35 years! Rannells originally created art of beautiful girls but transitioned to illustrating dogs, a decision that led to much commercial success. His talent caught the attention of publications like Judge, Life, and McCalls, where his delightful dog portraits adorned their covers for years!
