Zabargad was also full of extraordinary green gems with golden reflections, the peridot stone, highly prized by Egyptian pharaohs. One day, seeking to escape the crusaders, Zabargad, the island of a thousand wonders, shrouded herself in mist and kept herself hidden for over three thousand years. We had to wait the year 1905 for the lost paradise of Zabargad to be rediscovered and with it the virtues of this luminous stone.
