THE STORY On the edge of Cochabamba, in the heart of the Andes valley, stands the Crisil glassworks. The furnace glows at 1200 °C day and night, and every jar is shaped by mouth. The glass is entirely recycled: used cola bottles and flat glass from construction sites. Each jar and lid is literally made from two old bottles and one broken window pane. Producing 30,000 jars reused 32,500 kilos of glass and created work for 75 people — 1,400 working days in total. The order from Good to Give allowed Crisil to invest in furnace maintenance and new designs. Designed by Dutch designer Carla Peters. IN STORE Display the three sizes together; customers often buy them as sets. Pairs well with kitchen textiles, tableware and dry goods.
