This painting was one that I made more recently and represents the deep interconnectedness of all objects and systems in the known universe. The brilliant and gentle astronomer Carl Sagan inspired these ideas in my consciousness when he stated that to bake an apple pie, you first must have a universe. And not only an apple pie, but every other object--including orchids--because every object in the universe is the universe itself. To have an orchid, you need the cosmos: the atoms and molecules that arrange themselves in a particular order that produces an orchid.
