Wholesale 16" x 16" Handwoven Cotton Bird Pillowcase - White and Gray

This stylized bird pillowcase is handwoven on the Mayan Backstrap loom. The traditional Mayan brocade design features a variety of stylized birds. Traditionally these bird motifs represent the Mayan Nahual (day sign) of Tzikin, which is considered a messenger between people and the heavens, connecting the wearer of the textile to the divine. Each pillowcase will feature slight variations in the design as each brocade weaving is a piece of art inspired by the individual weaver. The gray threads are dyed with natural ash. The white color is from natural cotton. Handwoven by cooperatives of Mayan women weavers in rural communities from Santa Catarina Ixtahuacan in the Western Highlands. Fair Trade certified. Pillowcases measure 16in x 16in and feature inside cotton lining and YKK zipper on bottom edge. Fabric content: 100% cotton. Care instruction: dry clean only.
