How This Handmade Gemstone Ring Is Made Each blue kyanite ring is made to order in my small Santa Fe studio. I hand-select every kyanite blade for its natural striations and unique form, then encase it in copper using traditional electroforming techniques. Copper grows directly around the stone through an electrical process, forming the band organically. No mass production, no shortcuts. Every handmade gemstone ring from this studio is one of a kind.
