Fabrics and garments take on a leading role, worked with great detail and sometimes incorporating touches of color, golds and metals that provide depth and contemporaneity. Montse Farrés is an artist who has devoted her life to art. She began in porcelain design, creating exclusive pieces together with her husband for brands such as Memphis, Vinçon and La Oca, and worked for many years in fashion before fully committing to painting. Her work explores both abstract painting —with material textures created from Jacquard silks, wools and other fabrics— and figurative painting, inspired by the Renaissance but reinterpreted with a contemporary sensibility. Mastering color and contrast, her pieces combine realism and abstraction to offer new visual dimensions. Montse exhibits permanently in galleries in Catalonia and has participated in numerous solo and group shows. Her work has been sold in various European countries.
