Description
The Design A graceful Federal Revival demi-lune cabinet with a rounded bow-front form, curved drawer stack, side cabinet doors, brass drop pulls, and fine inlaid panel detailing. The half-round shape gives the piece an architectural softness, allowing it to sit beautifully against a wall while still carrying the presence of a full case piece. The front is arranged with a central column of curved drawers, flanked by side cabinet doors that follow the rounded case. Thin contrasting inlay frames the drawer and door panels, adding definition without overwhelming the wood. The warm figured grain gives the cabinet depth and movement, especially across the curved door fronts, where the veneer catches light with a quiet shimmer. Raised on slender shaped legs, the cabinet has the refined look of Federal and Hepplewhite-inspired furniture: balanced, elegant, and formal without becoming stiff. A miracle, really, considering how many cabinets in the world are just wooden rectangles with delusions. Condition & Provenance Consistent with Federal / Hepplewhite Revival furniture, likely dating to c. 1930s–1950s. The demi-lune case, curved drawer fronts, brass drop hardware, contrasting inlay, and slender shaped legs all align with early-to-mid 20th-century traditional revival furniture. Vintage condition with age-appropriate surface wear, small marks, finish variation, and signs of prior use. The wood presents with attractive figuring and warm tonal variation. Hardware appears period-appropriate in style. No maker’s mark is visible from the provided photos. Product Details
