Designed by William Henry Bradley Bradley's drawing plays with real, thoughtful images, combining the shape of a woman wading in a lily pond with that of another person standing behind her on the bank. On the right, the reflection of a term from Pan appears through the water lilies. The Inland Printer was a Chicago magazine for the printing industry, with articles on advances in presses, fonts, and inks. It was the first American magazine to change its cover image with each issue, an initiative by Bradley whose aesthetic was influenced by European poster designers and illustrators, including Aubrey Beardsley, whose designs decorated the British magazine Yellow Book.
