Similar to Spaghetti but wider, Pici represent one of the recent innovations of the Regional Formats by Rustichella d'Abruzzo. The classic sauce with which they are accompanied is "aglione," a tomato sauce combined with a particular type of garlic that grows only in Sarteano (Siena) and its surroundings, but they can also be paired with a liver sauce or more simply with breadcrumbs (Tuscan bread crumbs sautéed in olive oil). We also suggest pairing them with Porcini Mushroom sauce and the delicious Tartufata by Rustichella d’Abruzzo.
