Due to the organic nature of our products, they could be damaged by mold, mildew, pests, etc (and therefore rendered unsaleable and creating more waste) if left exposed to the elements. **Why not use compostable bags? Compostable bags unfortunately do not have the shelf life we require for our products. Home compostable bags break down within a few months to a year, and our products must stay protected for at least one year.
